July 19 Update
Carrick had an alright day today. They tried another bottle today; he only got 12cc out of it. He has trouble breathing when taking a bottle. They have to crank up his oxygen. It's hard and his lung disease is still severe. If he didn't have such a good case of BPD, he'd probably be off oxygen and bottle feed more feedings. He also still needs the assistance of a sepository to poop. He's still on the nasal cannula at 1 liter; he sat at 30% oxygen today. But he is gaining weight--up to 5 lbs 3 oz! The only two things prohibiting him from coming home are breathing and bottle feeding. He won't have hernia surgery until his lungs get better, so that's at least a few months away. Jenni and I gave him a bath tonight; he liked it after we got him in the water. Carrick is on his way. More to come.

We are praying really hard that God will heal his lungs and allow him to take bottles! We want that baby to go home!
Love,
Mom
