July 27 Update
Carrick is acting more like a normal baby everyday. He especially likes to move his little tongue around, and he usually sleeps with it hanging out a bit. The doctor was going to move him down to .5 liter of air Saturday, but Carrick had an eye exam yesterday so he was pretty tired. That means that tomorrow morning they'll attempt to wean him a little more. It will probably mean his oxygen requirement will increase because he'll have less air flowing into his nose. He's also been moved up to 3 bottles a day; he was moved up about 3 days ago but has yet to actually take all 3 bottles. Jenni fed him his whole bottle this morning-40cc--but he only got 10cc out at his 5:00pm feeding. He's beginning to take 2 bottles a day, meaning he gets all of his formula from the bottle, but he hasn't done well with the third bottle. Maybe in a couple days he'll manage 3. His eyes are still at stage 2 ROP, which is good. It means they haven't gotten worse. His progress is slower than we would like it to be, but he is doing well. His Uncle Rob and Aunt Becca made him feel a little better this weekend; he likes them. Keep praying for Carrick and us. This will be a long month. More to come.

he's coming home. That's all you have to remember. You two knew you would be bringing Carrick home from the hospital before the doctors and nurses knew.. That's what you focus on, the promise you were given months ago by the Sustainer that this too shall pass. He will come home. and I plan on celebrating his homecoming in a big way!
Jenni and Will:
Hang in there! Just a few more weeks and that little boy of yours will be home and in his cute little room and cute little crib! We are waiting for the day! And there will be a huge celebration when we visit him at home!
Love,
Mom
