May 24 Update

Carrick met his Aunt Sarah and Uncle Kyle for the first time today. Other than that, nothing extraordinary has happened. He's still on the ventilator and will remain so until after his PDA surgery. His oxygen settings are in the 40%. He's up to 1 lb 13oz. His feedings will resume after the surgery. He's just stuck in the same spot until they get his PDA closed. But he was much calmer today; the new breathing tube had a lot to do with that. And today is his 1 month birthday! He's been alive and in the NICU for a whole month! Jenni and I are excited. He has at least 2 more months to go before we can even think about taking him home. We are incredibly thankful for the month we've been given with him. After his surgery on Tuesday he should begin to progress again, we hope. Thank you for praying over him this past month. Please continue to do so, especially on Tuesday. More to come.
