June 17 Update
Carrick's crib is officially set up in his room. We took a picture to show everyone. His bedding has all these construction trucks on it. After we got it put together and all set up, we sat in his room and stared for an hour and a half at his crib. That and a make-shift shelf is still all we have in there so far. The other night when we were visiting, Carrick was in the middle of his breathing treatments. One of the respiratory therapists asked Will if he wanted to take a picture of Carrick's face without all the tubing on it. We were so excited! This would be the first time we have actually seen his whole face! So Will races in and takes the picture and ...well. Normally, parents are the last to admit that their kid isn't cute, but poor Carrick! You see, his head had these indentations where the tubes have been strapped to him and his cheeks have been pushed down where the tubing was on his face. The result is a little butternut squash. His cheeks are also red from all the tape. His nose has been squished up and his nostrils are perfect circles from the nose prongs. So it looks exactly like a pig's nose! Exactly like one. And his hair is all matted on his head from wearing the hat so long. So the first time we really see our son's face, he looks like a matted, red-cheeked, butternut squash pig. It's a little funny and also sad to see the toll all this is taking on his little body. Hopefully, he won't look like that forever! We put a picture up anyway so you could see. Other than that Carrick is still doing wonderfully. He's breathing well and still no infections. They are starting to have to really wrap him up in his isolette because he's so active that he keeps knocking his nose prongs out and scooting around. Thanks for all your prayers. More to come.

Poor baby! I loved seeing his sweet face though, so I know you both were just beyond happy. What a good day!
P.S. The crib looks FANTASTIC all set up and everything. Green gecko really works with the whole ensemble. :)
Hey guys!
Don't worry...God will soon put the baby fat (which is oddly why babies tend to be cute anyhow) back in the proper places.
Also, be ready, it won't be long before God puts the stink in the poop too.
He really does have a sense of humor!!!
