June 5 Update
Carrick received a blood transfusion this morning; he was anemic. It helped him become more stable on the CPAP, which he is still on and doing well. The pressure setting is still 8, but his oxygen level is down to 40%. We learned that he has a heart murmur, but it’s of no significance and hasn’t caused any problems. No big deal. His feedings are still going well, and he’s up to 5cc an hour. They may even stop his IV fluids tomorrow because his food intake is steadily increasing, almost enough to provide all his nourishment. We put some more pictures up for your viewing pleasure. He’s much calmer on the CPAP. His ventilator alarm went off every few minutes the past week because of all his movement. He’s doing better, but just because he went off the ventilator doesn’t guarantee he’ll stay off it. Thanks for all your prayers. More to come.
