July 4 Update

Today was a big day for Carrick. His highflow pressure was dropped to 3, and his feeding was increased to 9cc/hour, which has him eating 7.2 oz a day. Big deal! He was on 21% oxygen when we left the hospital tonight. We breathe at 21% oxygen so this is a huge deal, but he's not doing as well as he was with more help. He de-sats every few minutes but comes back up on his own. But he is doing well. Jenni and I met the head of Parents Partnered for Preemies (PPP) this morning. She said we've been there long enough to deserve a night out, unfortunately. PPP gave us a restaurant gift card! Carrick must know PPP is looking out for his parents because he smiled a lot today. We have also noticed that he has a cleft chin. It just appeared a couple days ago. Jenni and I aren't sure where it comes from. But apparently he's destined to be a distinguished fellow. His hair is growing; he'll need a haircut before he comes home at this rate. Progress is the word! More to come.
