July 8 Update
This entry is late because Will and I were at the hospital for three hours tonight since somebody woke up at the last minute and wouldn't go back to sleep. He slept while his dad was holding him but woke right up when we tried to put him back in his crib. It took a lot of trial and error on our parts (and the nurse's) but he finally dozed off after about an hour and a half of being upset. It was almost like training for when he comes home. Except that if he were home and having problems we could just pick him up and walk him around and do everything ourselves. He had a pretty okay day today. The doctor turned him down to a pressure of 2 on the high-flow. He was also taken off his zantac and had his feedings increased to 10ccs an hour. That means he is getting 8 oz. of formula a day. His weight is about the same as yesterday. Also, for anyone who is interested, the nurse told us they no longer have to weigh his diapers every time they change him. Carrick did do something great tonight. He stuck his thumb in his mouth again and sucked on it! He did it several times in a row. He has trouble keeping it in and finding it when it falls out. But he'll get there soon. More to come.

Looks like somebody is learning how to throw a temper tantrum! I wouldn't want to be put back to bed either if my daddy were holding me! You tell 'em Carrick!
Love,
Mom
