August 2 Update

Carrick cleared 6 lbs! He's up to 6 lbs and 1 oz. The doctor put him on the new diuretic to pull more fluid off his lungs, and tonight Carrick was only on 25% oxygen so maybe it's working! Usually if he's down to 25% when we come he needs to be bumped up during feeding or sleep or wiggling. But tonight he was still on 25% through all of that. He did have another eye exam this afternoon, but the doctor will have to let us know the results tomorrow. The nurses let us pretty much have free reign over him now. They try to do his assessments quickly and then leave so we can do our thing. Carrick received a surprise visit from his Great Uncle Glenn and Great Aunt Laura and cousins Kristen and Rachel tonight. They were traveling back from vacation and took a slight detour. They also brought presents for Carrick! What a great family he has! You know, God has been very good to Carrick. Babies who begin with such favor are usually set apart for a special work from God. Jenni and I couldn't be prouder. More to come.
