May 7 Update 2
Carrick has taken a few steps back. He is on a new ventilator for babies with PIE. They went as high as they could with the old ventilator--100% oxygen and as much pressure as possible, but it wasn't doing the job. This new ventilator isn't supposed to damage his lungs as much. Carrick had been on 20-30% oxygen on his old one before all the CPAP drama, to put it into perspective. The new X-ray of his lungs looks worse, also. His blood pressure has dropped to boarder-line. He also isn't urinating as much as he needs to. The ultrasound of his brain is the same as last week. It's good that it didn't increase. The doctor says it usually takes a month for bleeding to go away. But he is stable. This is a bad day. Maybe tomorrow will be a good day. Thank you for all the support and prayers. Joel Wade even stopped by tonight in between flights; it was great. Jenni and I greatly appreciate all the love and support you've given to us and Carrick. Please continue to pray for him. More to come.

I just noticed we can leave comments...
We have a letter written and on its way. You should get it on Saturday or Monday.
We love and are praying for all three of you.
Sam, Rose, and Samuel Holthe
Lifting all of you in prayer. Remember that God is in control and hasn't been surprised by any of the things you've been going through. Rest in His love.
