July 13 Update

Carrick has been progressing well recently, but he is still a preemie. He had to go back on the highflow today. He's still at pressure 2 and his oxygen ranges from 25% up to 30%. He needs the extra pressure now. His reflux is back so they put him back on zantac. He had a few "bradies" (short for bradycardia--his heartrate drops because of his reflux) during our visit tonight. They also re-ran his feeding tube through his mouth because it was causing too much build up in his nose. On a lighter note, Carrick grew this week; now he is 17 inches long! We took his mobile and put it on his hospital crib; the nurse said we should definitely do that. It doesn't look so much like a hospital room anymore. We gave him a bath tonight and worked extra on his cradle cap; it's looking much better. Carrick has taken a step back, but we know that God is faithful to fulfill His promise to us. We just want him home so badly. It's unnatural for parents to be separated from their child for this long. It only gets harder every day, but we're hanging in there. More to come.
